Frog fish
There were two of these strange creatures perched with a few feet of each other approximately 40 feet down a wall on the side of Viking rock. Particularly difficult creatures to discern amongst the sponges and encrustations of the rocky face, they were nevertheless easy subjects for underwater images.

Great Barracouta and Kathy
Off Cape Lookout, North Carolina, August, 1996.
These barracouta hang around in quite substantial numbers above North Carolina's wrecks, always there to provide some interest during those safety stops. Many like this one reach impressive size and can seem intimidating.
In winter months they can be found in large numbers off the Florida Keys.
Green sea turtle and Kathy
This Green with the big tail that Kathy is chasing is a male. These turtles migrate along a set path that runs along a great ocean ridge stretching in a south-west direction from the west coast of Costa Rica to Cocos then to the Galapagos and a little bit further beyond. This explains the large numbers of these turtles that can be found at Cocos and the Galapagos.
