The NorthEast Civic Association (NECA) of the city of Alexandria , VA is a non-profit organization for City residents who live in the area bounded on the west and east by US 1 and the George Washington Memorial Parkway, on the north by Four mile run at Potomac Greens and on the south by First Streets. Map
The goal of the NECA is to keep its members informed of changes in the neighborhood that may affect their quality of life and help them form reasonable courses of action to deal with these changes. Our bylaws are here.
I Also run a mail list which published information a few times a month. You can sign up here.
The NECA meets at 7:30 PM on the third Wednesday of the months January, March, May, September and November and at other times as needed. Meetings are usually held in the second floor meeting room of Fire House #4 on the corner of Second and Powhatan Streets.

Meeting usually last less than 2 hours and cover topics mentioned in the newsletter.
The board of directors and committees which are formed to work on special issues meet as needed at the discretion of their leader.
