The Bad News | Those of you who have been here before are probably looking for the Court Reporting Students' Online Support Center, a site I began in September of 1997. The bad news is that after a year and a half, personal circumstances and the increasing popularity of the site meant that I could no longer keep up and maintain the site in the manner that it deserved.
The Great News | I posted a message stating that I needed to shut down the site -- or at least take a hiatus -- unless someone else was willing to take over the site. And, wonderfully, Kathy Dittmeier answered the call and volunteered to take over. Those of you who frequented the message boards might well recognize her name as one of the most active and helpful guides. You might also recognize her name as one of the forces behind the Machine Shorthand Information Site, one of the best compilations of links for associations, vendors, schools -- just about anything pertaining to machine stenography. I cannot think of a better person to take over the site; Kathy's combination of knowledge of machine stenography and her caring for students makes her a true angel to students.
So What Do I Do Now? | My advice -- proceed to the Machine Shorthand Information Site and go to the the new Student Support Center. Kathy has started a new message board there, as well as a profile area. (Although there are still links to those pages, I've discontinued the penpal and mentors pages here.)
And This Site? |
This site will be my own personal court reporting page. I'll maintain my list of links and the writings that I've done -- and possibly add to them! (Hey, I said "possibly.") And I also have an archive of a selection of the postings to the original message board to this site. | Final Thoughts | For now, at any rate. Thank you, to all of you who have come by and made The Court Reporting Students' Online Support Center such a special place. It has been a privilege and an honor to have shared the journey with you, and I look forward to seeing you at the new Student Support Center. |
