chapathi cook These pictures are from two visits to Old Delhi that I made in January and February 1998, when I took along my camera (for once, there!). The earlier pictures were taken with my friend Terry Sampson and his two sons just around Republic Day, so Old Delhi had a rather festive air; the latter ones were with Aingeal and two friends who were visiting from Europe.

Here, we see a cook in a street dhaba (eating place), making up chapathis and samosas on his coal-fired stove.
