Below are directions from Bowie,if not starting east of DC Beltway, start at DC Beltway, #3 instruction:

(1) Take Route 50 West to the DC Beltway.

(2) Exit on to Beltway 95/495 at 7B which is the outer loop towards Silver Spring.

(3) Stay on 495 West Beltway

(4) Exit DC Beltway at Rt 270 WEST , Its a right split just after 355? Beltway Exit 35 North to Frederick, stay on 270 North Express lane when 270 widens to many lanes. Bear to left 3 or so lanes.

(5) Exit 70 West to Hagerstown ( 57 miles from Bowie). If comming from Baltimore or Columbia area, see bottom of page.

(6) Stay on 70 West

(7) If you are hungry on way out, there is a McDonalds at exit 42 along 70.( Its 70 miles from Bowie)

(8) Reference only: Hagerstown is 79 Miles from Bowie.

(9) Exit Route 70 on to Route 68. Its exit 1A--68/40 combined. (you should be now 110 road Miles from Bowie)

(10) Reference only: Cumberland,MD is 148 road Miles from Bowie.

(11) Reference only: LaVale is 152 road Miles from Bowie.LaVale has a Ponderosa & Chinese restaurant

(12) Exit RT 68 at 219 South. Its exit 14A. See Deep Creek Lake Sign & Oakland. Reference only: 219 South, your turn is several miles

( 12A) Reference Only: After 219 South cutoff! (you should be 169 road Miles from Bowie)

(13) Reference only: If you stayed on 68, you would be in Morgantown, WVA in less that an hour more!

(14) Reference only: On 219 South, you go through the town of Accident,MD. The first stop light will be  near the Garrett County tourist center on right.

(15) You come into the Deep Creek Lake area when you see McHenry,MD signs. See also Wisp Ski area also on right. Hotel "Comfort Inn",Coldwell Banker Reality, Point View Restaurant.

(16) Stay on Route 219 until you see the UNO Restaurant and Arrowhead (gasoline & grocery store). Its across from movie Movie theater. This is now the second ( 2nd) stop light on Rt 219 South! If you pass McDonalds on right, you just missed your left turn! Immediately left after Arrowhead is Glendale Road on left side of RT 219.Note, it is 2.6 miles from Arrowhead to House!

(17) Turn left on to Glendale Road.Stay left on Glendale at what looks like a "Y" just after your 219 turn-off. At Glendale Bridge (newly built).Stay to the right after you cross.Continue on Glendale until you reach Beckman Peninsula Road (note:opposite side road on left is Toothpick Road).

(18) Turn Right on to Beckman Peninsula Road. Continue on Beckman Peninsula Road until you see the sign (entrance to the development) "GLENFIELD ON THE LAKE" which is Glenlake Road.

(19) Turn Right on to Glenlake Rd.

(20) Turn Right on to Glenrise Rd.(If you go straight, you will be in common area or lake!)

(21) Turn Left on Glenarm Way.(Note:Its 200 road Miles from Bowie,MD) (Note, you may see Glen Arm or Glenarm,same street.

(22) The house is the first house on right on Glenarm Way. Its #48 Glenarm Way, but no sign to confirm that.ItÕs a single (wood frame home) car garage on lower right side of home with wrap around deck and wrap around glass doors! Should be at least one outside light on now.There is a sign out front that now says"Vacation Rental". Presently there is a crute hand painted sign that sdays BOLTs West.

ALTERNATE ROUTE (longer way - good view of the lake):

(16a) LEFT AT ROCKLODGE ROAD! Its off Route 219,just after "Point View In" (restaurant). Your turn to the house is a left on to Rocklodge Rd. Its just before the bridge over Deep Creek Lake. (17a) Rocklodge Rd. dips & dive around one side of the lake (slow). (18a) There is a sharp turn (switch back)to the right on to State Park Rd.Its your first right, and it follows the lake around. (19a) Continue till you go over a small bridge, then its a quick ( hard left)up a hill on to Tooth Pick Rd. Its slow & sharp & curvy up hill/ its a real short short-cut.If you miss this sharp turn, or its slippery that day, stay on road around lake.Turn left at bridge & take next right that will be Beckman Peninsula Road. (20a) At top of the hill, cross straight ahead down hill on to Beckman Peninsula Road ( you will be crossing Glendale Rd.)and go down hill.Note if you missed the hard left,stay on road till you come down to the bridge under repair,thats Glendale Rd.You have to go Left! (21a) Turn Right on to Glenlake Rd. See sign for Glenfield On The Lake Housing Development (22a) Right on Glenrise. (23a) Left on Glenarm Way.Its 200 road Miles from Bowie,MD (24a) The house is the first house on right, single (wood) car garage on lower right side of home!

################# Note, if you live in the Baltimore or Columbia Maryland area, you want to get on Route 70 West as quick as you can. Route 32 crossing Howard County is a good fast route. It is however 3 miles longer from my Bowie area.
