Paris 2006

I went to Paris for Thanksgiving. I left Monday evening the 20th and returned very late the following Monday night. I packed for early winter, but the weather was fairly warm. There were occasional rain showers so it was damp and misty much of the time.

I stayed in the Marais (4th arrondissement) and that was a great base for my explorations.
I went to a fabulous all-Shostakovich concert by the Orchestre de Paris conducted by M. Rostropovich at the Salle Pleyel.
I took in a performance of Prokofiev's comic opera L'Amour des Trois Oranges by the Opéra national de Paris at the already-falling-apart Opéra Bastille.
I saw a bunch of the usual things like museums and monuments.

I also took pictures. Here are some of them.
The pictures are about 200 to 300 KB each (614 x 461 pixels) and are less than 5% of the original size. There are 8 to 10 images on a page.
