I have little information on Carrie Prince. My only primary source is a
letter she sent to my father, William G. Eliot, 3d (1897) upon the
occasion of his impending wedding to my mother in 1932, which I found
among his possessions. Its text follows. Frank Eliot

Dear Mr. Eliot
My first pleasure in writing to you will be to introduce myself. I am your grandmother in law, in prospectus: in other words Grandma Cushman.
I have written a letter to Alice, and at this happy time I want to write a few lines to you.
Alice is my dear grand-daughter. She has a loving heart, and a conscientious spirit. She is extremely happy in her relation with you, and the future looks bright.
May love, and health, and prosperity attend your future, and that you may have a happy married life is my prayer.
I know you are both good Unitarians, and as such, will live your
religion. I shall look forward to meeting you in the future.
Cordially yours, Carrie Prince Cushman
