The Committee on Privacy and Confidentiality of the American Statistical Association (ASA) is primarily concerned with the proper use and protection of statistical data and its sources. This web site provides information about the current activities and reports of the Committee. It further includes information about sessions at joint statistical conferences and meetings that involve privacy and confidentiality. It also provides a catologue by year of significant events affecting privacy and confidentiality. These particular areas can be reached by selecting one of the buttons to the left.
Basic information is also available from the Definitions button; the Disclosure Limitations button, which discusses protecting confidentiality using statistical methods that limit disclosure; the Access Restriction button discusses protecting confidentiality by imposing conditions that restrict access.
