This MESAS page is directed to professionals working in the fields
of applied
and
sciences, and to engineering firms, needing to meet multilateral and
international lending agency environmental guidelines for Environmental Impact
Assessments (EIAs), Social Assessments (SAs), Political Risk Assessments (PRAs),
and Resettlement and Rehabilitation (R&R). The goal is to provide resources
for project preparation, supervision, monitoring, and evaluation, focusing on
the environmental and socio-cultural and issues surrounding large scale development
projects.
The MESAS Environmental and Social Resources Page, as it develops, will incorporate abstracts and annotations of key resource documents and hotlinks to other relevant websites, such as the World Bank webpage, the Environmental Management for Power Development page supported by the World Bank and other sponsors, or a variety of social and environmental sciences pages elsewhere on the Web.
Feedback, comments, and contributions are welcome. Please let us know about other Internet resources. You may contact Web Master, Tod Ragsdale, at his email address: TARagsdale@aol.com or by fax: (202) 265-6823 or visit our MESAS Webpage.
