WATER Interns Hall of Fame Northern Manitoba, where I am currently working with Mennonite Central Committee, is in many ways another world than the one I experienced during my WATER summer internship. However, the lessons I learned and the skills that I take from my internship at WATER are relevant. Nora Nafziger, Summer Intern 2002 Lauren Dunn--Returned to Tufts University in Boston for her senior year after a summer 2003 internship. She is responsible for this updated Web page. Yeah, Lauren! We miss you. Marge O'Gorman--A Franciscan Sister of Mary from St. Louis, Marge spent four months of her post-leadership sabbatical at WATER in 2002. Her tireless chasing of footnotes for Diann Neu's liturgies and updating of the data base helped enormously. Lora Nofziger--Is currently completing a two-year voluntary service term with Mennonite Central Committee in Cranberry Portage, Manitoba, after her summer 2002 internship. She is a student support worker in the residence of a high school that serves over twenty-five remote northern communities. Grace Duerkson--Finished a BA in Bible and Religion with a minor in Global Peace and Justice Studies at Bethel College, a Mennonite college in N. Newton KS. She interned at WATER during the 1997-98 academic year. She is currently a student of theology at the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, CA. Pauline Maheux--An Ursuline sister from London Ontario, Pauline was at WATER for three months between April and July of 1998. She is at Brecia College in London, Ontario. Lanell Dike--A WATER intern during her Santa Cruz University days, Lanell was back for a month the summer of 1996 between her Community Enterprises work just completed and her fall City Year job in San Jose, California. She returns to WATER annually and consults over the phone about our data base. She currently works for the Global Fund for Women. Anna Mae Mayer--A Dartmouth College Catholic Campus Minister, Anna Mae is a welcome presence whenever she comes to WATER, and that is often. She has endless skills and willingness to share them. Monique Miyake-Maier--A graduate of Mount Holyoke College, Monique was back for her second summer internship before starting Harvard Divinity School. She is currently living in Hawaii with her son . Richard Russell--Richard had the distinction of being the first man to intern at WATER following his graduation from Episcopal Divinity School. While at WATER he worked on fundraising and is currently the fundraiser for the Washignton Opera. |
