The National Association of Science Writers Founded in 1934, a major national, professional organization in the US for both free-lance science wiriters and employees of news services. The Association of British Science Writers The principal professional association of science writers in the UK, includes membership information.

The Canadian Science Writers' Association The principal professional association of science writers in Canada. The site is linked to an on-line edition of its quarterly newsletter and to current science news.

The International Science Writers Association An international association of those who write or edit scientific or technological material or prepare such materials for broadcast. Its principal goal is the mutual assistance of members when they are engaging in professional activities outside their home countries.

National Writers Union The trade union for freelance writers. The site contains information on contractual, copyright and legislative issues of relevance to professional writers.

Society of Professional Journalists Billed as the largest and broadest based professional organization for journalists. The Freedom of Information Act Resource pages aim to provide guidance for obtaining information under the FOIA.
