a breastfeeding advocacy organization, has to say about the
Nestle boycott.
In addition, other formula companies violate the WHO Code on marketing
formula, a code that they voluntarily have agreed to!
UNICEF UK has recently released
a a very saddening report
of tactics used by several formula companies.
I do not purchase products from offending formula companies.
- Weapon: The landmine. Anti-personnel mines left after military
actions remain until they're found mostly by innocent civilians and injuring
or killing around 20,000 people globally each year. Landmines should be
banned internationally. Here's what the
International Committee of the Red Cross has to say about
the banning of landmines,
and here is UNICEF's
commentary.
Many of the world's countries have signed a treaty to cease production and
use of landmines. The US is still not a signator on the treaty.
