Science Fiction
I've been a reader of Science Fiction since reading my first Lensman book when I was 10. I've written some SF, and often attend Philcon and Balticon. There are two parts to this page-- Science Fiction links, and a list of my favorite SF books.
The Links
- The Linköping Science Fiction & Fantasy Archive
- Reviews, bibliographies, and more. Great site.
- SF-Lovers Archive
- Lots of good links, as well as other info.
- SF Site
- Reviews of current SF-- pretty much everything that's just come out.
- The Internet Speculative Fiction Database
- The most complete bibliographical info on the web. The place to go if you're trying to find a short story.
- SF Weekly
- A nice bi-weekly SF e-zine. Reviews, news, and hype.
The 10 best SF books ever
- Canticle for Leibowitz by Walter Miller, Jr.
- Foundation by Isaac Asimov
- Frameshift by Robert J. Sawyer
- Doomsday Book by Connie Willis
- Tau Zero by Poul Anderson
- Dune by Frank Herbert
- Dorsai! by Gordon Dickson
- The Peace War by Vernor Vinge
- The Disposessed by Ursula Le Guin
- That Hideous Strength by C. S. Lewis
Note: I love Lois McMaster Bujold and Robert Heinlein, but I found it very difficult to single out any one of their books for the list.
