Software Engineer

I am currently Senior Consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton working mostly on government projects, usually software engineering, but I also do a bit of other types of work. Here's a copy of my resume in Word format.

My professional/academic interests are in artifical intelligence, especially evolutionary computation, intelligent agents, and artifical life. I'm also interested in applications which can use evolutionary processes. For example not long ago, evolutionary processes were used to design circuits and they turn out to work more efficiently, even through they required more gates.

In September, 1999, I moved down to Austin, Texas to join Exterprise as Senior Software Developer in their Intelligent Agent and Process Group. Then in June, 2001 we were merged into Commerce One. With Commerce One, I continued working on the Sourcing product (released December 2001), as well as Service Management for the Conductor 6.0 (released Spring 2003).

From October 1997 to September 1999, I was Software Engineer with Teknowledge Corporation in their Fairfax office. I've been part of several projects such as the DMIF II Topic 1, which built a Pedigree Server to manage pedigress of data. In addition I worked on the DASSA project where I developed an interface to represents a "blackboard" in Java 1.2, as well as an engineering GUI (in Swing) for a DARAPA demonstration. Most of the work were just basically passing through data between the "outside" and the Versant ODMS. I also worked on the SARACS/Autonomous Systems where we did a survey of the state-of-the-art of autonomous systems that deals with adversity. Another project that I worked on was developing a prototype of sensor controllers to manage remote "sensors" which were security monitor software.

Besides the contract work, I also participate in the search for new business for Teknowledge by searching through BAA (Broad Area Annoucement) and writing proposals.

From June, 1995 to October, 1997, I worked in the Global Change Initiative Divsion (GCID) on the EDOS (EOS Data Operation System) project. GCID in turn is part of the System Integration Group, part of the TRW Space & Defense, again part of TRW.

Before joining TRW, I was Associate Programmer/Analyst at Hughes STX Corporation, working on site at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. I worked on the Small Expendable Deployer System (SEDS) project which study tethers in space and possible applications to space missions. The project had 3 missions, SEDS-1, PMG and SEDS-2. As part of this project I was co-authors of three papers for the 4th International Conference on Tethers in Space in April 1995. I presented the paper on Tether Survivability to the Conference.
