  •       Graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of California, San Diego with a BA in Computer Science in 1990.
  •       Researcher and Software Engineer for the Dept. of Celtic, Glasgow University, 1993-1994.
  •       Awarded PhD in Celtic Studies by Edinburgh University, 1998 .
           Thesis topic: The Tree in Scottish Gaelic Literature and Tradition.
  •        Assistant Archivist for the 'New Directions Project' at Harvard University from 1999-2000 .

    Among his many accomplishments are:

  •       Creating a large multimedia presentatio for the Celtic History Museum about the ancient Celts in Macintosh HyperCard which has circulated around the world as shareware.
  •       Researching and writing the scripts for a 5-part series for BBC Radio nan Gýidheal about Gaelic tradition in Perthshire which aired February and March 2000.
  •         Collecting oral history on behalf of John Muir Trust on the island of Skye through the medium of the Gaelic language in the summer of 1995, and have subsequently done fieldwork through the medium of Gaelic all over the Scottish Gýidhealtachd.
  •         Serving on the board of directors of Comann an Luchd Ionnsachaidh (The National Gaelic Learners and Supporters Association) from 1995 to 1998.
  •         Winning 'Best New Gaelic Song of 1999' contest (with Richard Taylor on guitar), sponsored by National Gaelic Arts Project.
  •         Coordinating FÈis Bhostoin 2000, a Scottish Gaelic Music Festival in Boston, Massachusetts, in Spring 2000, and writing the teaching materials for that event.
