This is the personal home page of Albert Stern, who lived with Tom Warrick, Rochelle Stern and Elizabeth Warrick. Albert came to us in August 1992 from GRREAT, which stands for Golden Retriever Rescue, Education and Training. GRREAT is the rescue league for Golden Retrievers in the Washington, D.C. area. Albert stayed with us for almost 12 years, and now waits for us at Rainbow Bridge. We miss him very much.
Here is Albert at the age of 1 1/2 years old, just after he came to us.
Here is Albert with one of his favorite toys.
Albert is a ``rescue'' golden. Here is Albert showing his profile for the camera. Say ``cheese''!
We got Albert when he was 1 1/2 years old. As hard as it is to believe, we are Albert's third family -- though why anyone would give up a dog this wonderful is inexplicable. Here is Albert sitting on the family room couch.
When Albert arrived, he was already housebroken and well past the chewing stage and other problems of puppyhood. Albert just needed the right family. If you're considering getting a Golden Retriever, or any other dog, you should consider getting a rescue dog, like Albert, or a dog from your local animal shelter.
GRREAT has a
listing of Golden
Retrievers in the greater Washington, D.C. area who have their own Web
pages.
We celebrate and remember the famous Web site, "Golden Retrievers
in Cyberspace," maintained by the late Helen Redlus. Please consider a
contribution to the Helen Redlus
Memorial Fund, which tries to help older rescue Goldens.
