No trip on the Bay would be complete without a stop at Vera's White Sands Restaurant (it's the pink building up on the hill). Vera is STILL very much the movie star -- including her home (in white) next door!
To get to Vera's by water (it's on St. Leonard's Creek) you have to pass the "cows." Rio is staring them down from his precarious perch on the dinghy bow!
Here's a panoramic shot of one of our VERY favorite beaches (sorry, can't tell you where it is -- if I did, I'd have to shoot you!) as the sun is about to set. Salty Lady is the only boat in the cove -- just as she so often is where we hang out to "chill."
Here's another photo of the same beach -- in the early morning -- again, we are all alone...
This is the Dove reproduction in her home berth at St. Mary's City. I have read that Ernest (Dick) Hartge made one of these for the State of Maryland in 1934. I don't know if this is THE one, but I'd like to find out.
Here's another great mural -- this one is in Oxford, MD.
The Liquid Natural Gas dock panorama -- on the western shore of the Bay just north of Solomons Island. A solution STILL looking for a problem... It's been out of operation for many years, but we hear it's about to open once again.
