Finally, Bill said we could share the following story of his personal experience that weekend:

After the last performance at the Old Settler's Music Fest, I was jamming with some other festivarians around a campfire. We were pickin' Greatful Dead's version of "Jack a Roe" when about 20 or so peoples came streaming into the campsite. Many had on costumes of various forms. Some had instruments and some did not. The group of strangers surrounded us and I must say I became a little nervous. The words to "Jack a Roe" went by the wayside and it was all we could do to just keep the rythym going. Then all of the sudden the group of strangers started strumming, shouting, and yelling right up into our faces. I just kind of stood there and took it, really not quite knowing what to do. Then as quickly as they came, they left (over). After awhile I began to think, "I think I've seen those guys before." I think I was salmonized!!

Nothing like that had ever happened to me at a fireside jam before. It was a great good natured prank, and a story I've been able to tell over and over again.
