Greetings all you LoSers, Dixie beer and crawdads Don here. Just got in from Phatlanta. Hope you all are ready for a lengthy review on LoS day in Atlanta. So grab a beer, get comfy, and enjoy... To start things off, the boys (minus Jeff) did an acoustic appearance at Discover Music in Lilburn. Talk about a great time. I never knew you could fit so many people in such a lil place. Because of traffic, the boys didn't get there till 7:30 but all was great. They were in great spirits, it was Vince's b-day (HAPPY B-DAY VINCE!!!!), and the boys did an hour long set which just had everyone in the biggest smiles you'd ever seen. There were even some lil children present who just had the greatest time dancin' and laughing just like us. Talk about a treat. At one point, one of the kids had a toy hammer and starting keeping time on the stage and Vince went into "If I Had A Hammer" which had everyone cracking up. Well, here's the setlist from the instore: Friday, November 5, 1999 Discover Music In-Store Lilburn, Ga. Freight Train Boogie* Idaho Spud* Animal Song (?) Instrumental (?) Gold Hill Line 12" 3spd. What more can I say than...FESSSSSSSSSSSSSTIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!! The boys were absolutely smokin' this night. They had so much energy and were just constantly taking it to that "next level" that we love them so much to reach. I don't know what it was. The water, there beer, the new venue, I don't know. All i know is this had to be one the best shows I'd seen in a long time and that says alot since our boys never put on a "bad" show. Vince was peakin' tons throughout the night and Drew was an absolute sick mad man... He was in great form and just smokin. "Zombie Jamboree", we found Drew doing one of the sickest solos i'd ever seen. He was jumpin and his hand was just flyin' so damn fast. And in "Doin' My Time", Drew held the 2nd verse high note so long, Vince had to hit him on the back to stop. Drew was totally on this night. "Doin' My Time" was also another real treat. After every verse, they'd go into this phatty reggae type jam that sounded like they were gonna swing into "When The Levee Breaks" but just when you thought they were gonna do it, here comes the rise up back into "Doin' My Time". What a nice way to flavor that song up. Other highlights included my request for "Danger Man" which had vince in top form, Jeff's phatty jam in "Boulet", and Col. Bruce stopping in for two songs, "Aint No Reason (?)" and "Yeild Not To Temptation". What can I say boys and girls, we had a crazy show. Agents of Good Roots (openers) sat in on a few songs in the 2nd set. Not too bad actually. They're guitarist/singer is mad crazy on the guitar. Their opening set, what I caught of it, wasn't half bad either. Well, I hope that covers all the ground for the review. Hope you all feel like you were there after this. I'd like to use this space to thank the boys and my man, Johnny Pfarr for, once again, treating me like gold before AND after the show. It's always nice to know that your favorite band knows who you are and takes it to the next level. I'm none less than honored. Thanks again boys, and hurry back to CHARLOTTE this time :o) Dixie beer and crawdads, Don
