Here's some of what folks have been saying recently on Internet
about Leftover Salmon from December 1998 through February 1999

Check farther on down the Home Page for links to earlier comments about the boyz' shows...

"just saw them last night at the mystic theater in petaluma and they
were FANTASTIC!" <carolgdead@aol.com> on rec.music.gdead

"lI saw them last Thursday night in Santa Cruz and was blown away by how
good they were! Such a high energy show, great bluegrass! They played two
long sets and about 30 minutes of encores. So tight, each of those guys is a
powerful musician, I don't think there's a weak link in the whole outfit. If
they're anywhere near you, go see them!!" <annetteg@thegrid.net> on
rec.music.gdead

"I would go see Blues Traveller if just to see Leftover Salmon open for them.
They will blow your socks off!" <chris@iserve.net> on rec.music.phish

"Hey all, I just finished listening to a live show I got of Leftover Salmon and I
must say, I was very impressed." <PHISHFREAK@prodigy.net> on rec.music.phish

"I'm just getting conscious after the totally bitchin' New Year's extravaganza.
Fear not fellow LoSers! Vince and crew came out and kicked some serious
slamgr-ASS! They danced me solid both nights." <chrisran@mwci.net>

"As far as LOS is concerned, they still make me dance the hardest.^>"
<kclone39@binary.net>

"Don't tell John Popper, but I think if you guys were given a longer set, you
would have blown BT off the stage! GREAT SHOW! I just bought your CD
Euphoria, sounds good." <salemi6@ameritech.net>

"Popper and BT can raise the roof, but IMHO they can't match the mix of
FUN and FINE PICKIN' that you get with Vince and crew. A full 2-set show is
guaranteed to send you home with a smile." <hsc@webzone.net>

"I miss the days of Left Hand String Band opening for Leftover Salmon...since
those days, a good fix of Water Mountain and the Frozen Convulsion Boys has
always been a highlight for me. This is just another incarnation of this type of
music, and I love it! It's a fantastic way for them to really showcase the
musicianship and talent that makes LoS so great." <stampes@xilinx.com>

Re: Louisville Show. "Wow! What an fantastic night of music. The first set was
a great warm up for a completely rocking 2nd set. I am not too good with the
names of songs as it was only my 3rd LoS show, but I'll try to list those that I
remember. Vince sounded good the whole night. Drew was excellent on the
mandolin. I was right in front of the stage and to see him play the mandolin
that close up is an experience. His hands moved faster than I could keep up. it
was the drummers birthday and the band played happy birthday and some guy
dressed in a gorilla outfit came on stage and stuffed cupcakes in all the band
members' faces." <Barandolph@aol.com>

[Re Louisville: Re Mark's new tune, Five Alive -- the one he'll be pickin with
Earl Scruggs on the new album!] "Drew introduced it as a song about how Mark
struggled growing up and faced hardships learning the banjo and walking 12
miles to school... It is an excellent, jamminass bluegrass tune.

[Re Mark's Foggy Mountain Fogdown.] "What can you say about the Fogdown.
It jammed. It was awesome. We all boogied. LOVE IT!!!!

Mark kicked ass tonight, btw!! He even smiled, thus trashing the axe-murderer
banjo theory." <chrisran@mwci.net>

"Things got a little crazy down in Cincinnati last night" <ThompsoS@pobox.westerville.k12.oh.us>

Re Urbana. "By the end of the first set it was tropical and steamy in there. All
the freaks boogie-n down and risin' up!! yeee-ha. after about 35 min the guys
came back and laid it down dirty, played it back clean. a couple times Mark got
up on the front (raised something) of the stage and jammed hard, leaned back,
banjo neck neck pointing to the sky. fun. Drew whipped out some great electric
lines. (Need more 420 fiddle IMHO!!) Apt was in that zone & held it together
the way only he can. Tye added lots of strange, um, rasps. i can dig it. in all,
they SLAM-grassed our asses" <chrisran@mwci.net>

Re Urbana. "I too thought Mark had a great show, he really seemed to want
the ball (I think the people of Colorado will forgive a Super Bowl metaphor). He
was throwing a lot of curveballs too (stop me stop me) what with that slow
pick beginning of 420 (just try jumping as high as you can in slow motion), then
playing about 30 seconds of the slow intro of Funky Mountain and going
straight into the meltdown portion. He can't lose 'em though they run right
with him. Sipe just continues to amaze me, as does the whole band. Well I
better go this is gonna turn into a dissertation. Another great show by the best
damn band in the country (IMHO)." <ericdenn@net66.com>

"Saw them in Las Vegas. You'll remember the music long after you forgot how
much you spent on the ticket." <oobleo@aol.com> on rec.music.gdead

"For the second time in as many years Leftover Salmon came to Fayetteville
and ROCKED JR's Dicksonstreet Ballroom. ... Fayetteville Loves Leftover! ...
Very entertaining. They jammed on the solos harder last night than usual, it
reminded me of Trey's "Rock God" style solos." <nick976276@aol.com>
on rec.music.phish

"I've seen them 4 times... definitely check them out. ... if you're the kind of
person to let go of yourself and just dance, this is the show for you. LOS takes
so much pleasure in their music, it's hard to wipe the grin off your face even
after the show. high energy night... enjoy them!" <roberlyn@aol.com>

"Don't walk, run. Pace yourself, though. You'll need the energy. Expect to be
blown away. Expect to smile. Expect to dance. Expect to DANCE. Meet a new
friend. Some water'd be a good idea." <rsleeva@iquest.net>
