** EDITOR'S SPECIAL NOTICE: BARF80/OPDX's Mail Server (NSHORE.ORG) lost its system files early last week and was down pretty much all week. This means no one was able to subscribe or unsubscribe from the OPDX Mailing List. Also, some mail had to be re-routed to another E-mail address, but some mail was also "possibly" lost. If you do not see your DX announcement in this issue, please send it again. Currently, the E-mail to my system (BARF80) has been restored this past weekend, but as this was being typed, the OPDX Mailing List Server on NSHORE.ORG is still not working. So this week's bulletin will probably only be available via the OPDX Web page (provided by K8YSE), the DX Mailing Lists and the UseNet Groups. Please have patience, and pass the word on to OPDX subscribers. TNX and 73 de Tedd KB8NW.....

3D2, FIJI (Update). Kenny, K2KW, wants to remind everyone that "Team Vertical's" operation from Taveuni Island (OC-016) is about two weeks away. In doing some research, Kenny reports that Fiji appears to be relatively rare on 160 meters, so they plan to be very active on the Top Band. They plan to be active daily on 160m beginning on November 21st, at around 0630z. Their 160m antenna will be the first antenna to go up. The team's transmit frequency will be 1825.5 kHz (up/down two as directed). Unfortunately, they will be limited to low power on 160m and all the other bands. George/W2VJN (3D2SS) will be the main operator for 160m (Kenny/K2KW/3D2KW and Tom/N6BT/3D2SS will also fill in). There are more details on the team's 160m operations and the expedition on Kenny's Web page at: http://www.k2kw.com/3d2/ Remember, the "Team Vertical" will be 3D2XA in the CQWW DX CW Contest as a Multi/Multi entry. QSL via WA4WTG.

CROATIAN TELEGRAPHY CLUB. Chairman of the Croatian Telegraphy Club (CTC) Den, 9A3FO, invites you to become a CTC member and welcomes membership applications from telegraphy lovers from all parts of the world. He states, "If your membership application is submitted by E-mail then no fee is required and membership is gratuitous because it is the Club's principle of supporting CW which is far more important than any financial consideration." Take a look at their Web page at: http://www.qsl.net/ctc/ Their E-mail address is: ctc@hamradio.hr Their mail address is: Croatian Telegraphy Club, Franjevacka 5, 42220 Novi Marof, Croatia - Europe.

CX, URUGUAY (IOTA Op). Shalom, 4X1UN, informs OPDX that he will be operating as CX/4X1UN from Gorriti and Lobos Islands (SA-039) between November 11-16th. Activity will be on 20/15 meters CW/SSB. He states that he has all the documentation and permission required. QSL via 4X1UN.

D4, CAPE VERDE. Alexander, 4L5A, will be active as D4B in the CQ WW DX CW Contest (November 27-28th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/High-Power entry. QSL via K1BV. Please visit the Web page at: http://www.qsl.net/d44tt/

FY, FRENCH GUYANA (IOTA Op). Operator Jean Pierre, F5AHO, will be active as FY/F5AHO from November 11-24th. He will also activate an IOTA, Salut Islands (SA-020, DIFO FY-008) from November 13-14th.

HS72, THAILAND (RAST News). Dietmar, DL3DXX, passed along the following news from Ray, HS0ZDZ (which has been edited and reformated): "HS72B has just passed its - 10,000 QSO milestone. This has been achieved with the difficulties of old and borrowed equipment and unsuitable WARC antennas at the club station and the need for operators to travel to Koh Chang Island at other times. We are aware, from constant E-mail feedback, that this number of QSOs does not meet the large demand for WARC and LF DX counters for Thailand. Therefore, we are very happy to announce that help is coming. A group of experienced LF DXPeditioners (DL3DXX, DL5LYM, WA6CDR, N5IA and G4ODV) has offered to bring equipment and antenna hardware to help launch several intensive HS72B LF and WARC operations together with Thai operators. The proposed schedule is as follow:

Overall coordination will be by Ray, HS0ZDZ (Station Manager HS0AC). The Logistics Manager and HS72B SEANET Station Leader will be Khun Winit, HS1CKC (Deputy Station Manager HS0AC). The Operational Leader of the CQ WW CW Contest and SDXO operations will be Dietmar, DL3DXX, who was the originator of this idea, and Chief Engineer par excellence will be Robin, WA6CDR, who will implement the most fantastic LF set up ever seen in Thailand. (If Robin is not constrained we may have to ask Bangkok Airport to divert air traffic during the operations). Robin will also be a most generous equipment donor to HS0AC. Consultant and also a most generous equipment donor to HS0AC will be Milt, N5IA. Many Thai DXers will remember Robin and Milt from the XZ0A DXpedition, and the donation of towers to HS0AC by the Central Arizona DX Association. QSL Manager will be Mann, E20NTS (QRZ.com OK). Software and Computer Network Manager is Thomas, DL5LYM.

Most of the existing equipment at HS0AC is 10 - 20 years old and has withstood the ravages of numerous contests, DXpeditions, and club station use, but it needs replacing with more modern equipment. RAST does not have the money do to this at present due to having committed a large part of its small income to a joint project with the Asian Institute of Technology and the YASME Foundation to rebuild the HS0AC Club Station. Therefore, any contributions of equipment or money to improve the chance of success of the proposed and future operations would be most welcome. The visiting team is donating some equipment and is shipping hardware at significant cost. Please contact Ray, HS0ZDZ raynom(at)loxinfo.co.th for general enquiries, and Dietmar dl3dxx(at)DARC.de about skeds for the SDXO and possible contributions........ 73, Ray HS0ZDZ"
