French is the primary or exclusive language for many nations and regions on every continent - la France, la Suisse (Switzerland), la Belgique (Belgium), Monaco, Québec, la Louisiane (Louisiana), most of western Africa and Madagascar, Liban (Lebanon), and countries around the Caribbean and in the south Pacific - and one of the two official working languages at the United Nations (the other being English). It ranks among the world's top ten languages in terms of the number of people who know it.
French differs from English markedly in pronunciation and word order. Though it can be daunting, the conquest of this language is ultimately a rewarding effort. I've taught and tutored many students, both in the classroom and electronically, and I'm willing to accommodate you if you're interested.
