Setting Up your Mac Using Control Panels

1. Under the Apple Go to Control Panels

2. Go to Contor Panel - TCP/IP

For a normal modem connection

Connect via PPP

Using PPP Sever

For an ethernet server to a router

Connect via ethernet

Using DHCP if router has DHCP

Name server addresses

205.177.25.9
205.177.25.6
205.177.25.8

3. Go to control Panel Remote Access or PPP (if using pre OS5 or IMAC)

The name is your login name, not your real name, typically if email is jdoe@his.com , login is jdoe (lower case)

Password is lower case

Make sure protocol is PPP, turn off TCP Header Compression

4. In modem control panel, normally use serial port or internal modem
