Here it is, early 2003, and once again I find the otherwise pleasant, useful (and sometimes downright fun) Internet is being royally screwed up for me and others by assholes.
More specifically, spamming assholes.
To be even more specific, spamming assholes who have been placing MY email address(es) in the From: field of their crapmail broadcasts.
Over the past few days, I've received a small number of hate mail messages from people who believe I've spammed them with a "[$user], Every Windows User Needs This!" crapmail replete with stupid hyperbole and bandwidth-wasting graphics. Luckily, such messages have been few and far between — but I've already lost count of how many "message undeliverable" or "Please Confirm Your Email" notes I've received from SMTP servers and/or spam filtering software... and the flow just keeps on coming.
For those of you who haven't quite figured it out yet (and I'll admit that it takes a bit of practice to learn how to dissect email headers, assuming your email software even lets you see them):
I AM NOT THE SOURCE OF THESE SPAM MESSAGES!
As a public service, the information you need to retaliate against these spamming assholes is below. I normally don't condone denial of service attacks, mailbombings, counter-spamming, or any number of other truly nasty things you can do to them if you choose to... but I'll make an exception in this case. Have at 'em, gang!
(...and isn't it interesting that the "different" domains linked in the spam have identical registration data, and that they're spamming with a site supposedly in the U.S. but the spammers are actually in Finland and their nameservice providers are in Ghana and China? Gosh, don't these look like trustworthy assholes?!?)
