Nightmare on Seventh Street: Digging Up the Sewer

After a heavy storm causes sewage to back up into the basement laundry room...

   
The problem is determined to be tree roots in the sewer pipes and an old running trap that has filled
with debris during the 120 year history of the house. The search for the running trap begins.
    
Twelve feet down... and the trap is found under the house!
Fortunately, it's removed and a temporary fix is in place before the electrical storm starts.
Lightning cuts the work short on Friday, and the long Memorial Day weekend looms...

And then things improve somewhat...
