Allen Family Information

Family lore says that the following three men were brothers.
  1. Michael ENTIS and Mary LEVINE (obviously not their yiddish names)
    Eldest son was Yehudas Liebe. He was inducted into the Czar's army. Second child was Gishe/Gesha (Jessie), born 1886. She traveled to the U.S. under the name Sisle ELLEN and later used the name ALLEN. She married Harry GLASSMAN in New York and had the following children: Nora (died as a child), Meyer, Ruth Lea, Marion/Micky, Benjamin, Goldye, Paula, Milton, Nora, and Shirley. Jessie and Yehudas Liebe were from Smorgon, Belarus.
  2. Morris ENTIS/YENTIN/ALLEN and Devora Nechampkin (various spellings). Children: Sylvan Yentin (b. 1898), Isaac Y, Celia, Emmanuel, female. Sylvan was listed as being born in Yjedke/Vyedke, Russia. Celia (abt 1908) was born in Leeds, England where the family resided before coming to the U.S.
  3. Frank ALLEN and Etta/Yetta B. ISAACSON. Children: Sarah (b. 1896), Martha, Miriam, Rose J., Helen, Theodora, Moses, Elizabeth, Naomi. All of the children before Moses (b. 1910) were listed as being born in Poland. Moses was born in Wooster, Ohio.
