There is no official hotel with a block of reserved rooms. However, three hotels are listed below for their convenience to our venues. As of late March one could find on their websites room rates under $100. Look under "special rates" or "promotions" or group discount rates (AAA, senior, government). Because the convention dates are in the cherry blossom season (or at least during the Cherry Blossom Festival), cheaper rooms at these hotels during these dates may go quickly.
There is also a Courtyard by Marriott hotel in Springfield with weekend rates similar or in some cases possibly cheaper than the Marriott TownePlace Suites.
This hotel appears to be the most upscale of the ones mentioned here, yet its website displays promotional weekend rates of $79-99/night.
This hotel (rated 3-diamonds by AAA) has interior corridors, a fitness room, a Virginia Tourist Center open 7 days a week, deluxe continental breakfast, and other amenities. There are restaurants across the street and in a shopping center one mile away (toward Pohick Church). The hotel's Web site states that it is 2 years old; however, it was built around 9-10 years ago and renovated more recently.Directions: From I-95 going either north or south take exit 163 for Lorton (Lorton Rd., Rte 642). Turn right (westward) at the stop sign from either exit ramp onto Rte. 642. Go approximately one block to Silverbrook Rd. and find the motel at this corner.
Directions from Comfort Inn to Pohick Church: Take Lorton Rd. (Rte. 642) eastward from the motel and pass under (without entering) I-95. Go 1 mile on Rte. 642 to U.S. Rte. 1 (follow signs). Turn left on Rte. 1 and go 1 mile to the church, on the right.
