I built this vertical 2x12 cab out of 3/4" plywood and solid pine. The
cab is much larger than most 2x12s, 18" wide, 30" tall, and 16"
deep, in order to give a bigger sound. The baffle is dadoed into the sides for
greater strength, and it's tilted back at a 5 degree angle to project the sound
up as well as out.
The closed back panel is fasted from inside the cab and the speakers are front-mounted and shielded by a grille of flattened expanded metal. The speakers are a Celestion Classic Lead 80 on top and a G12H30 on the bottom.
The cab is covered in vinyl tolex, applied with contact cement. The spring-loaded handles were recessed into the sides and pop-out casters were mounted into the bottom.
