I'm building this Ibanez Sabre-style 7-string guitar body from hard maple. I'm using the other end of the same flame maple board I used for my 7-String Neck-Through Flying V. It will be thicker than a stock Sabre, 1 3/4" instead of 1 1/2". I'll probably rout it for a bridge humbucker and two 7-string single coils. I plan to stain this body, a dark color that will highlight the figure in the flame maple, then spray it with laquer. Right now this project is on hold while I figure out how to get the Sabre body carve exactly right, using my 7-string mahogany Sabre body.
