How Does the Distance Learning Program Work?
Each participating country or company receives the carton of courseware and joins the "Virtual Classroom" with the faculty and other participating countries. Participants and faculty interact through E-Mail and fax, audioconferencing and video teleconferencing where countries interact with the faculty and other countries. Short courses are delivered by interactive, PC-based multimedia videoconferencing. Semester courses have classes two or three times a week for a half day each and include group projects, assignments, quizzes and case study discussions. The courseware for each course is sent to each participating country. It includes the Syllabus and course plan for each participant, the Instructor's Manual, the Participants' Manual, lectures on videotapes (NTSC, PAL, SECAM), narratives and overheads of the lectures, textbooks, software and manuals. The Participants' Manual includes the readings, exercises, and case studies. The Instructor's Guide also includes guidance for conducting each session, discussion questions, team exercises, assignments for group, solutions to the exercises, quizzes and generic answers. Local Course Administrators facilitate each class session and lead discussions and case studies.
