From Nandotimes.com. By Eric Fiddler Leftover Salmon - "The Nashville Sessions" (Hollywood) Leftover Salmon's new album is a tasty buffet, with 19 guest musicians and singers joining the band on "The Nashville Sessions." The group generally adopts a more country and bluegrass style on this album, letting the guests shine and backing them up capably. And what guests they are - Lucinda Williams, Jo-El Sonnier, Earl and Randy Scruggs, Jerry Douglas and Sam Bush are just a few of the luminaries who help out here. And while the band, which calls its style of music "polyethnic Cajun slamgrass" and is generally considered a "jam band," it sounds just as outstanding on a bluegrass breakdown with Del and Ronnie McCoury as it does on the jammy "Dance on Your Head." But as good as the rest of the album is, the standout track is "Lovin' in My Baby's Eyes" with Taj Mahal, which sounds like some great lost cut from an early Taj album.
