Guest Speaker: to be announced!

The Montgomery County Coin Club will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 1999, at the Senior Citizens Center, 1000 Forest Glen Road, Silver Spring, Maryland, USA. The featured speaker will be announced later.

May Meeting Report

MCCC President Massey was not able to get the dies for the 40th anniversary MCCC elongated, so for the May meeting Club Treasurer Simcha Kuritzky put together a quiz based on the ANA World Series of Money from a few years ago. For those readers who wish to test their knowledge, the quiz questions are listed here. The questions with their answers appear later in this Bulletin. These are tough --- good luck!

MCCC Quiz Questions

If you would like to volunteer to speak at an upcoming MCCC meeting, please contact President William C. Massey or any of the other Club officials.

Display Case Wants You!

The MCCC Display Case provides an elegant framework for showing off items from your collection. Please bring something in to share with the fellow Club members! You need not make a major presentation, though a few words about the historical or numismatic context of your exhibit would be most welcome and are sure to generate a round of applause.

Calling All YNs!

Don't forget: Young Numismatists ("YNs") are always welcome to attend and participate in MCCC meetings. (YNs who put items in the Display Case get special awards.) Please help bring more young people into the pursuit of numismatics --- invite your youthful relatives, friends, and neighbors to come to our meetings.

May Featured Attraction: Numismatic Quiz!

The featured event for the May 1999 MCCC meeting was a session of Numismatic Quiz competition. Questions were selected by Treasurer Kuritzky from material used in an ANA "World Series of Numismatics". The prizes for correct answers were donated by President Massey: wheat cents for questions worth 10-40 points (1 wheat cent for each 5 points) and a Mercury dime for the 50 point questions.

The questions and answers follow. (If you wish to see only the questions and not the answers, refer to the list earlier in this bulletin's online version.) Each question is followed by its point value in parentheses; each answer is followed by the initials of the person who got it right (if anyone did). A key to the initials appears after the question list.
