The Teets Family

	This Carte-de-visite is one of five images we have of Theodore F. Teets.

	This image is marked on the back as showing T.F. Teets in the center, with a H.Y.R. Queen on the left and a Cyra Queen on the right. The children are unidentified.

We have received some generous information from fellow Teets decendant in Florida in the form of a State of New York Certificate and Record of Death for Theodore F. Teets. It answers a number of questions about Theodore and the complete information can be found here.

We are still trying to determine the rest of Theodore's family and his wife Sarah's family name

Theodore Frelinghousen Teets, b. 1844, d. 1899 m. Sarah _____?, b. ____, d. 1919.

Lived in Brooklyn. Bodies transferred up to the Kensico cemetery in Connecticut. Theodore was a carpentor-stairmaker, mechanic and was an inventor of the Variety Machine, the patent for which was obtained by others. The family lived on 135 or 125 Street in what is now Harlem in late 1880's. After Harlem they moved to Mt. Vernon NY. After Theodores death the family moved to 155 Corona in Pelham NY. At one time they lived across the street from Clarence Birdseye.

T. F. Teets wife Sarah ____ passed near daughter Helen's 17th year (1919?).

Charles Percy Teets b.1890 or 1891, d. 1963.

Helen Adele Teets b. 1892 or 93, d. 1966 in Cleveland Ohio, m. Harold Van Wyck 1920?, later m. Charles Barrow in 1955.

John Teets

This partially burned photo is the only evidence we have of Theodore F. Teets family other than his wife and children and his parents named in his death certificate. It is marked on the back in pencil "John Teets, brother of Theodore F. Teets". Please contact us at whitelaw@spamcop.net if you have any information about John or Theodore Teets families. There is a memory that there was family located in Penn Argyle Pennsylvania in the 1950's.
