Currently serve as acting Macintosh Administrator, responsible for all Mac-based communications, software, and problem-solving. Other responsibilities include working on SPC's World Wide Web server; general user support operations; aiding in network integration, operation, & troubleshooting; and ad hoc writing, editing, and graphics tasks.

May 1987 - November 1994

Toolkits Coordinator, 1993-1994, NASA Automated Systems Incident Response Capability (NASIRC), which coordinates between all NASA AIS security managers and between NASA and other AIS security organizations (CERT, Sun Microsystems, etc.). Responsibilities included: locating, acquiring, testing & distributing AIS security tools (software & information) for the NASA community; managing NASIRC's Anon FTP/WWW server; writing the vast majority of NASIRC Security Bulletins; working with the NASIRC Training Coordinator to develop security courses and seminars; helping staff the NASIRC hotline and handle reported incidents; coordinating with other member organizations of the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST); and ad hoc proposal, writing, editing and graphics tasks.

Task Leader, 1990-1993, NASA Science Internet (NSI) User Support Office. Supervised staff of seven; acted as primary interface between HSTX and the ATR; directed NSI user help operations; coordinated with the NSI Project Office in California, GSFC LAN management and operations groups, and other HSTX tasks; directed a user outreach program; designed and maintained the NSI Online Network Aide (NONA), an automated network information data base and user help system; helped monitor and troubleshoot the NSI; delivered presentations and tutorials at science conferences and user group meetings; prepared activity reports for HSTX and NASA management; and provided ad hoc editing, writing, and graphics support for publications and presentations.

Task Leader, 1987-1993, GSFC Network Support Group for Large Systems (NSG-LS). Supervised staff of eight; managed user help operations for the GSFC LAN; created, maintained & distributed the "MacDefender" anti-virus tool kit; designed & maintained the Network Information Center On-Line Aid System (NICOLAS), a menu-driven automated help and inter-network gateway system for network users; helped design & create a Gopher server; helped monitor and troubleshoot GSFC networks; created and delivered networking-related presentations & documents; maintained e-mail distribution lists; and performed ad hoc editing and writing for various publications. Also prepared and satisfied ROSAT project networking requirements prior to a successful June 1990 launch.

Concurrent with HSTX employment, served on the faculty of Trinity College in Washington, DC. Designed and implemented the first introductory computer course to be offered by this nationally rated school; helped design a follow-up advanced course. Consistently highly rated in student reviews.

Assigned to a U.S. Coast Guard task, periodically rewrote the USCG Telecommunications Plan and Secure Telecommunications Plan, which required working with classified information in a secure environment; prepared a feasibility study for a pilot LAN at USCG Headquarters; and edited a revalidation of workload estimates for the USCG District Minicomputer System. Previously, performed requirements analyses that included interviewing fire company personnel nationwide and preparing several Requirements Analysis & Functional Definition documents; and coordinated development of large Functional Description and Requirements Definition documents for the Defense Logistics Agency's automated disposal system. Also performed ad hoc editing, writing, graphics, and analysis tasks throughout this period.
