Background
James M. Gibson, Jr.
James Gibson has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering with twenty-five years of
industrial experience in all aspects of terminal sterilization including
devices and pharmaceuticals. With a background in microbiology associated
with sterilization and disinfection, his experience includes new and novel
sterilization and disinfection technologies.
James has spent 20 years involved with the Association of Advancement of
Medical Instrumentation (AAMI), and was a member of the Working Group that
drafted the original "Guidelines for Industrial Ethylene Oxide Sterilization
of Medical Devices" and its 1988 revision. He is currently Co-Chairman
of the AAMI Industrial Ethylene Oxide and Industrial Moist Heat Working
Groups and was a United States Delegate to the International Standards Organization
Technical Committee on Sterilization for both ethylene oxide and moist heat.
James is also a member of the National Fire Protection Association Committee
which drafted "Standards for the Storage, Handling and Use of Ethylene
Oxide for Sterilization and Fumigation."
