After Cox's Bazaar, we caught a bus up to Chittagong, for a flight back to Dhaka and thence to Delhi the next day. Since we had to overnight in Chittagong, though, I dragged long-suffering Aingeal out to what she called the ultimate "little boy experience": shipbreaking.
They buy clapped out old ships in the wholesale market in Singapore, run them up on the shore, and then hordes of men swarm out and chop them to pieces by hand. By the time they're done, the only thing left might be a little bit of the stern.
