Back to the square, we climb on stupas and temples, which seems to be the main thing that the children here do, when they're not asking you for a rupee, and then head down to Taumadhi square, which has the tallest pagoda temple I've ever seen in my life (OK, so I'd never seen any until a couple of days ago, but I've seen dozens by this point). Here in Bhaktapur, the steps to the temple always seem to be lined with animal statues, and this huge pagoda, the Nyatapola Temple, is no exception, but with bigger, better and more mythical creatures, as befits such a tall pagoda. You can see for miles into the haze of the Kathmandu valley.
