backstreet in old delhi The Indian flags are all up because it was just around Republic Day, January 26th. This is one of the back streets off Chandni Chowk. Near here, you can find a street of saris, which turns into a street of sewing machines. You can get pedal-operated sewing machines, and stands, brand new. Singar is a common brand.

It's very easy to get lost, but there are a few books with good maps including Seven Walks in Old Delhi. I've not really followed their routes, but the maps are very useful.
