bridge over river The pillars in the river were once a bridge, though frankly it doesn't look very secure and in the event did not survive very long (hmmmm...). As you can see in the background, there's no shortage of granite in this area. The whole of Hampi is littered with gigantic boulders still, though building it must have tidied them up quite a bit.
